Authenticator asking me to sign-in

This usually happens when the Authenticator app itself is registered as the default MFA method, so signing in to fix MFA triggers another MFA prompt, creating a loop. To break it, sign in without using the Authenticator app by choosing “Sign in another way” and selecting SMS or voice call if those were previously configured; if not, an Azure AD / Microsoft Entra admin must reset your MFA methods or issue a Temporary Access Pass (TAP) so you can sign in and re‑register Authenticator. If you’re completely locked out and are the only admin, you’ll need to use account recovery or contact Microsoft Support. Once back in, remove the broken Authenticator entry and re-add it.
