A Microsoft digital storytelling app for creating and sharing interactive reports and presentations.
Hello otis miller,
Thank you for posting your question on Microsoft Q&A forum
I understand you are having trouble importing Word docs into Sway.
There have been reports from other users that they also having issue with importing Word doc to Sway such as the user from this thread:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/5669621/uploading-word-doc-to-sway-isnt-working
Here are some workarounds you can try to see if it can import to Sway:
Use Copy & Paste instead of direct import
- Direct import is not always supported, and the stable fallback is to simply copy and paste your Word content into Sway.
- This works for text, images, and most formatting.
Try creating a Sway using “Transform” from inside Word:
- Open your Word document
- Go to File > Transform > Transform to Webpage (Sway)
- Choose a template and let Word generate the Sway version
This will bypass the upload step to Sway
Feel free reply back to this post and update me on the situation to see if the workarounds are effective, I'll be happy to help.
