I have been having issues with my computer. Went to Microsoft to reinstall my Office 2019 for Mac but it downloaded 365 and wants me to subscribe. How do I get my 2019 back? Also version downloaded did not have any of my old emails.

Hi Cheryl Pontes, I can see how frustrating this must be you paid for Office 2019 and just want it back but Microsoft keeps pushing 365 instead.

To get Office 2019 back on your Mac first uninstall Office 365 completely using Microsoft uninstall tool then sign in to your Microsoft account and download the correct Office 2019 installer from your Services & Subscriptions page or by entering your product key at setup.office.com after installation activate it by signing in with the same account restore your emails by re-adding accounts or recovering .olm files from backups or recovery tools and if you still have license issues contact Microsoft Support with your product key to reenable the download link.

When you sign in to your Microsoft account under Services & Subscriptions do you see your Office 2019 license listed there or is it only showing Microsoft 365?

Thanks for your reply. It does show the 2019 in my account but using the download button gave me the wrong version (well, it is showing the new Outlook but asking me to subscribe). I can't find the uninstall tool (I searched for it) and frankly, I'm tired after several attempts to get the program back. I really don't like the new Outlook format and if I toggle to the legacy version it does strange things like emptying my inbox while I'm trying to read messages and of course, old emails that I had saved are nowhere to be found. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to answer.

I'm having the same issue. The Services and Subscriptions page is now Subscriptions, though it does show my Office Student PC purchase and Office 2019 purchase. However, the license keys are no longer showing for either one AND when I click the Install button, it installs 365. So I have no direct download of 2019 despite it saying that's what it is, and no license key to contact Microsoft about.

The worst part is, it was all on my computer running perfectly fine last night. I was in the middle of two massive projects – one which I was set to be paid for – and when I started working again after a nap, it was suddenly asking me to verify my 365 subscription. It nuked both of my projects; completely locked me out of being able to copy and paste my own work, and would not allow me to save it. I am beyond devastated and beyond irritated. I have never needed product support, so I don't care about 2019 being retired. But whatever is going on with this definitely needs support as it seems the issue has been increasing since they retired this program last year and that the issue is on their end with how their systems push and validate 365, not an actual 2019 product support issue.
