The Steam, Microsoft Store and Xbox versions of MSFS 2024 require a Microsoft account login, you cannot log into that game with a Local account in Windows.

2025-12-05T16:43:59.2066667+00:00 Thanks, I just went ahead and installed Linux tbh, I'm tired of MS's behaviour and I'm okay with losing MSFS 2024 just to be rid of the wider Windows ecosystem and Microsoft. A costly move in terms of money sunken into FS24 but I'm happy to be rid and that money was already spent, it aint coming back :)
I'm happy enough to just use XP12. Perhaps not a decision many would make but I am not many.
