A Microsoft app for iOS and Android devices that enables authentication with two-factor verification, phone sign-in, and code generation
Issue with Authenticator access
Dear Microsoft 365/Azure Support Team,
I am writing to request urgent assistance regarding the complete loss of access to our primary organizational email address: <PII removed>.
The issue is as follows:
- I am the domain owner for <PII removed>.
The account <PII removed> was previously secured using the Microsoft Authenticator App, which was linked to my personal device/account as the managing director/owner.
We recently terminated the employment of an individual who also had administrative access related to this email account.
Since their departure, the multi-factor authentication (MFA) setup for <PII removed> appears to have been improperly removed or reset from my Authenticator App.
We now have no method to satisfy the MFA requirement for this account, rendering the mailbox inaccessible.
We believe this requires a manual, high-level intervention to reset the MFA registration associated with this user account.
Requested Action:
We urgently need Microsoft to intervene and perform one of the following actions to restore access:
Globally disable the MFA requirement for the user <PII removed>.
Reset the MFA registration state for the user, allowing me, the domain owner, to re-register the account via a trusted method.
I can provide any necessary documentation or proof of domain/user ownership (e.g., global admin credentials, licensing information, company registration documents) required to verify my identity and authority over the <PII removed> domain.
Please advise on the required steps to resolve this critical access issue immediately.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
