Inability to get code on another email id on Authenticator

I am having issues with my Authenticator app. I have two accounts, one for school and one work email. I can access the work email but I cannot access the email for the school because it keeps asking for Authenticator code. The issue now is I cannot generate a code on Authenticator. I have tried changing the security info to text messages but it keep asking for code. What do I do?
