Getting error 0x80190001 with windows 11 installation-assistant

Hello,

I am trying to upgrade my windows 10 notebook to windows 11 and when trying to use the W11 installation-assistant i get the aforementioned error. The notification says to check my network settings and retry but i cannot find anything useful there. The notebook is connected directly via ethernet cable and i cannot find any network issues, nor settings that would prevent the download to my knowledge.

Not shure if this helps but i just ran a full SFC and DISM check minutes before using the installation-assistent (did reboot after the checks) so system files should be fine.

What do i do here?

Edit:

The Problem has been resolved. I tried the suggestion of Ramesh Srinivasan (which i will mark as the answer) but in the moment it did not help. However after turning the notebook back on yesterday it had an update it wanted to do, which upgraded the OS to Windows 11.

The installer was unable to download the setup files from Microsoft. The Windows 11 ISO should help. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/4252110/how-to-run-in-place-upgrade-in-windows-11

Before using the ISO, please do the following:

Open admin Command Prompt and run these two commands:

CompatTelRunner.exe -m:appraiser.dll -f:DoScheduledTelemetryRun

After the above command completes, run the following:

schtasks.exe /Run /TN "\Microsoft\Windows\Application Experience\Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser"

After three minutes, run the following command:

REG QUERY "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\TargetVersionUpgradeExperienceIndicators" /s

Copy the output of the last command and post the output here.

I had almost the same thing happen. The install assistant kept whining about network settings even though nothing was wrong. I ended up just leaving it alone after trying the usual DISM/SFC stuff, and when I booted the next day Windows Update itself pushed the 11 upgrade through. Sometimes it’s just Microsoft’s servers being weird—basically, do the cleanup checks, reboot, and let Windows Update have another shot.

The error was likely due to a pending Windows Update dependency (like a Service Stack Update) that needed to be installed first.

Quick fix for that error: Try using the Media Creation Tool (MCT) instead of the Installation Assistant, or simply wait for a day and check for pending updates in Windows Update.

    Hi LB,

Is this notebook compatible with Windows 11?

    https://aka.ms/GetPCHealthCheckApp

That error can also be caused by 3rd party AntiVirus.

If that's the case remove the AV using the maker's

    removal tool.
