How to create a virtual and in person meeting that will generate a meeting link?

I had a virtual meeting scheduled weekly. We recently went to an in person format but still have attendees who will be virtual. We also have a new conference room system that uses the meeting ID to load visuals to a large screen. The in person format does not create a meeting ID link. How can I do that?

Hi @C Gibbs,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum and sharing your experience.

To create a hybrid meeting (virtual + in-person) that generates a meeting link and works with your new conference room system, here's how you can do it using Microsoft Outlook and Teams:

  1. Open Outlook or Microsoft Teams
  2. Go to the Calendar
  3. Click New Meeting
  4. Add:
    • Title
    • Attendees (both in-person and virtual)
    • Location (physical room name)
    • Teams Meeting toggle > Make sure this is enabled to generate a meeting link

     5. Click Save.

This creates a meeting with:

  • A Teams join link
  • A Meeting ID (visible in the Teams invite)
  • A physical location for in-person attendees.

Thank you again for your patience and for choosing Microsoft Q&A forum. Please let me know if there’s anything else I can assist you with. I’m here to support you every step of the way.
