Hi, My OneDrive desktop app basically freezes and quits every time I try to open up the settings to unsync files from my local computer. It freezes due to a file path length error that only gives you the option to force quit one drive, so I cant unsync my files through the settings because I don't have enough time to make it to the setting before the error pops up. Is there a way to unsync folders on OneDrive and Sharepoint through the browser instead? I cannot use the app, I have tried uninstalling, restarting and reinstalling and it keeps me logged in.

Hi @Callie
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
If you added a SharePoint folder to OneDrive using Add Shortcut to OneDrive, you can try removing it directly from the browser:
-Go to your OneDrive web
-Locate the shortcut folder you want to remove.
-Right-click the folder and choose Remove. This will delete the shortcut but not the actual folder or its contents.
If you're a SharePoint admin or site owner, you can go to Document Library > Gear icon > Library settings > Advanced settings > Scroll down to this option and select No.
Note: Please note that this change will impact all users with access to the affected folders.
To ensure syncing remains fully disabled, it's best to disconnect your account from the OneDrive desktop app entirely. This prevents the app from automatically resuming sync when you sign back in, unless you manually reconfigure the setup. For step-by-step instructions, you can refer to Fix OneDrive sync problems - Microsoft Support
After unlinking your account and your issue still persists, I suggest you contact your IT team to submit a support request in Microsoft 365 admin center. Our backend specialists utilize advanced diagnostics and internal resources to assess the issue and offer further support.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
