I downloaded a file, however it is not all uploading to the onedrive. Also, it says that it is still loading even though it was over 24 hours. I got a notification stating everything but 4 files were updated due to duplicates. However this was not true because others were not downloaded.

    Hi Elena Stewart,
Thanks for the information you provided.

Regarding your concern with OneDrive, I suspect the issue you're encountering is due to the large volume of files in the document library, I recommended using the library to distribute the files and then sync it via the OneDrive application. To address duplicating file during syncing process, I'd recommend performed a OneDrive reset, which may have helped resolve the duplication. That said, syncing a large number of items through the OneDrive sync engine can contribute to file duplication and is likely the cause of the high CPU usage observed.

To improve performance and reduce the risk of duplication or sync errors, I suggest creating a new document library and migrating some of the file load from your current OneDrive site to this new library. Syncing this new library via the OneDrive application will provide fault tolerance and enhance overall stability.

Below are the instructions that you can follow to create a new document library and sync it with your OneDrive application:

    Hi Elena Stewart

    Welcome to Q&A Forum.

    I'm happy to assist you.

To better understand and isolate the issue you've reported, where a file download remains stuck in a 'loading' state after 24 hours and not all files have uploaded to OneDrive despite a notification indicating only four duplicates were skipped, I’d like to share a few targeted diagnostic questions to guide the troubleshooting process.

    1. Are you using the desktop app, web version, or mobile app of OneDrive and Teams? This helps identify if the issue is platform-specific.
    2. Is OneDrive properly signed in and syncing on your device? Any sync errors or warnings visible?
    3. What types of files are involved (e.g., images, documents, audio)?
    4. Are the missing files large or unusually formatted?
    5. Were the files renamed or moved after download but before upload? This can interfere with OneDrive’s ability to detect and sync them.
    6. What exactly did the notification say about duplicates? Was it from OneDrive, Teams, or another service?
    7. Did you receive any error messages or sync alerts in OneDrive or Teams? Screenshots would be much appreciated to help pinpoint the issue.

As for basic troubleshooting steps, which steps have you taken to troubleshoot this problem

    1. Have you tried restarting OneDrive or your device?
    2. Have you checked the OneDrive web interface to confirm which files are present? This can help determine if the issue is with the desktop sync client.
    3. Have you tried uploading the missing files manually via OneDrive web?

I’d appreciate it if you could answer these questions as thoroughly as possible to help me narrow down the issue you're experiencing. The more details you provide, the better our chances of finding a targeted solution.
