I'm trying to cancel or delete my Microsoft Office 365 Family account and become a member of my husband's Microsoft Office 365 Family account. Please assist me in doing this.

Hello,

In order to share your husband's Microsoft 365 Family plan, you still need to keep your Microsoft account, so that he can share it with your account, and you will use your account to sign into apps.
This is the instruction he can use to share with you: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/share-your-microsoft-365-family-subscription-b389b9ce-3ae3-4a82-9017-39d79972fcba

So what you want to do is to cancel your subscription, not your account.

To cancel, go to https://account.live.com > Sign in, then go to Services & Subscription. Find the plan there, and cancel it there.

Your plan will still go through the rest of the subscription until the next renewal date. However, if you live in one of these countries, you can get prorated refund: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/countries-with-prorated-refunds-for-microsoft-subscriptions-38c81df4-10c1-f3eb-8d2f-b04f980c435f

Thank you for your post.

Here’s how to go from your own Microsoft 365 Family subscription to joining your husband’s:

Step 1: Cancel Your Personal Microsoft 365 Family Subscription

Since you’re in the Netherlands, you may be eligible for a prorated refund depending on how long is left on your subscription2.

Go to your Microsoft Services & Subscriptions page.

Sign in with the account tied to your current subscription.

Select Manage > Cancel subscription.

Follow the prompts if eligible, refund options will appear during cancellation.

If you don’t see refund info, you can contact Microsoft Support and explain your case. They may be able to help, especially since you’re switching to a family plan.

Step 2: Accept Your Husband’s Invitation

Your husband can share his Microsoft 365 Family subscription with up to five people. To join:

He should go to his Microsoft Family Sharing page.

From there, he can send you an invitation via email or share a link.

Once you receive it, click Accept and sign in with your Microsoft account ,the same one you used for your previous subscription.

You’ll then be added to his family group and gain access to all the shared benefits.

Step 3: Keep Your Files Safe

Good news: your OneDrive files and email won’t be deleted when you cancel your subscription, as long as you continue using the same Microsoft account.

Your storage will adjust to the new plan, but your files remain intact.

If you had more than 1TB of data, make sure your new plan covers it.
