In OneNote the Search bar has moved, How do I put it back to where it was?

Version 2504 Build 16.0.18730.20122 on Windows 11.

I have been using OneNote for years, all of a sudden when I opened it up today, the Search bar has moved from its correct place on top of the pages list on the side, to now being in the upper right corner of the actual notes main page.

When I type in a search, the list of pages where the search term shows up now covers up half of the notes field, meaning you can't read half of the page to see if the search result is actually what you are looking for or not, making the entire search function pretty much useless.

How can I move the search box, and more importantly, the list of pages that contain the search result, so that it no longer covers up the actual notes page that I need to read?

Why do I have to do ALL that when it was working perfectly fine before? If they cannot move the search bar then just roll the app back to where it was before that horrible fix 🤨

Agree 100% about MS screwing up and needing to fix this BUT until they do, IF they admit to this and fix it....was just looking for a quick work around even though I realize it's not good, but seeing the page titles at least to search is enough for me. Anyway, hoping as is everyone else, someone in that company can see the "street sense" of what happened and end user experience and PUT IT BACK soon! ;-)

THANK YOU I was in tears for a minute thinking my "Bible" for my job was just rendered useless with this stupid update. Yes, more clicks but at least I won't have to quit since I 100% depend on my Notebook/notes amassed over 10 years in order to work daily. Thank you again!!

But those steps from Dave DON'T fix the issue. All that boils down to is "switch to full page view and constantly have to use it in ONLY full page view (which is only meant to be used as a drawing pad for tablets) and never switch back to the normal view ever again" which also removes 99% of the other features and functions of OneNote.

That's not a fix for the issue of the Search box being in the wrong place in Normal view.

There are TWO search boxes. the office app search across the title bar at the very top is the only one you can hide. That one is really just a BING search built into office apps and does NOT search the contents of your notes. The actual search that does work within OneNote is the one that you can only "hide" if you switch it to full page view with also "Hides" 99% of the other functions and turns OneNote into a drawing program for use with a stylus pen on table PCs.

I have the same issue. If moving the search bar was done on purpose in the last update, PLEASE put it back where it was. If it was an error please figure out how to fix it, and hurry, because none of the suggestions below actually work to put it back where it was.

I use OneNote ALL day long and this change is irritating. I keep clicking the ADD PAGE b/c that's closest to where the search was before!! Then I have to delete the new page I wasn't trying to set up in the first place. It's driving me in sane!

Thank you for reading. I hope you can figure out the issue and do something quick to put it back where it belongs.
