@Mark Lowe1: Thank you for sharing the solution. This worked.

I had to execute a step number 3.5. Had to click "Enable" between steps 3 and 4.

Then for Step 4 had to move Files & Media from "Not Allowed" to "Allowed"

    Great work Mark!

    Hi Mark,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Community Support.

According to this issue, please help me to restart your phone first and try to open the OneNote again, if you face an error message - please take a screenshot of it. If the issue still persists, please follow these steps:

    1. From your main home screen, swipe up to go to Apps screen, search for "OneNote".
    2. Once you see its icon, hold your finger there, touch on the "i" symbol inside the circle on the right-side of the pop-up panel - you will be re-directed to OneNote app info page.
    3. Touch on "Force stop" at the bottom right of the screen > touch on Storage from the app info page > Clear data & Clear cache.
    4. Re-open again the OneNote application and sign-in with your work account. If the issue persists, consider re-installing the application from the App Store.

Please let me know if you have any updates.

    Sincerely,

Austin H - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist

Just wondering if anyone who is in the same boat as me has gotten OneNote to work. For me I do not have an Enable option or a permission related to Files & Media. I cannot force it to stop because it is greyed out. I managed one time to force it to stop but was not presented with any prompt about permissions. Tried installing Office but I have the same problem as OneNote. Basically I have tried everything that has been posted in this thread and still no luck.

This guidance worked great . . . merely needed to allow access to "Files and Media" opened OneNote and connected to msft account . . . took a minute or two to get all connected!

    Thanks!
