Is this scam? Complete a purchase by May 11, 2025 to keep your account active (SOLVED)

It's all about money. As far as Windows 11 is concerned, we will still be able to use Windows 10 but without the updates and we will be exposed to more threats as Windows 10 won't provide protection. I am very sceptical about every upgrade as every new one is so much worse than the previous one. Take Skype, for example. We were forced to go to Teams, which I have no interest in. Skype was simple and straightforward for the needs of people who want to spend time out of doors rather than waste it staring at the screen, I'm sure everyone will agree with me here. It is absolutely disgusting that we are coerced into something we don't want or need! But the greed is driving Microsoft! Sadly, we have no say and have to go along with it if we want to use the software. I have 3 words for the computer geeks who have nothing better to do than stare at the computer and work on updates: GET A LIFE! And realise once and for all that you will be an invalid at the age of 40 - affected motoric, faded eyesight, back and muscular pain, etc. I am just trying to figure out what to do. Can somebody tell me if I can use just Google account in place of Microsoft? Is this going to work, or do I really have to pay for the tenant ID and how often will we be paying? Microsoft will not give us the answer, so I'd like to appeal to those who are more knowledgeable. Thank you.

I have just checked the tenant ID and discovered one very reassuring thing. The email I have received refers to my Teams Account which I had created during the Covid-19 being forced to participate in online meetings. I haven't used this account since but I am still able to use Teams for meetings, like online training or job interviews, so that hasn't been affected. So this is my explanation. I believe that those who have a Teams business account can fret, but I am not sure. I have no interest in keeping my other Teams account, so I'm not paying a penny to Microsoft. As for Office, I was subscribed to Cloud 365 for 2 years and got fed up with it, so I contacted my computer engineer and made a one-time purchase to have my own OFFICE. I will keep my Windows 10, as I don't need updates. They do more harm than good! Every new one is much worse and more time-consuming than the previous one. I hope this discovery about the tenant ID helps others.

I received this too. Cannot find any reason for it and don't know what for.

In law, the two actions that break any attempt to change or remove a contract are fraudulent misrepresentation and coercion. Plainly, the above statement is both: it is deliberately ambiguous to coerce reaction in the reader, and deliberately ambiguous to falsely state a payment action is required for *any service requiring "*Microsoft Entra ID tenant". Microsoft could easily have been specific but chose not to.

If Microsoft remove any access to software or equipment based on the above the defrauded person is entitled to recompense for all costs, not only the supposed removal of any licence by Microsoft.

As one of the few remaining grandfathers of the digital age I have used and recommended Microsoft products since well before 1985, was a MS Professional for .NET and VS for some years and chaired computer societies. In systems development I am regarded as expert (although a post-retired active ancient). From an administrative and Security Operations perspective it is time to move away from a technology when it becomes corrosive: indicated by Microsoft's unlawful tactic.

Although I still use MS it is quite easy these days to install and use Linux (I prefer Rocky Linux) with free software like OpenOffice. However, I do not wish to do that: MS coerced me to do so by insisting they have right to take and employ my computer use and data to build their systems, including AI. When a mother board was changed in a couple of my systems MS removed my licence from them, and licence access to a host of other paid products like Adobe, because they tie their licensing system to users personal computer property.

CEASE AND DESIST NOTICE TO MICROSOFT: Do not remove any of my product access under any circumstances without specifically stating the product or service and precise reasons why you intend to take a proposed action so that I am given the opportunity and at least 30 days notice to avoid damage to my property.
