Hello,
I am a small business owner, with just an Microsoft 365 Business Basic licence.
I suddenly got an email, apparently from Microsoft that I dont understand at all
Its says:
You are receiving this email because your associated Microsoft Entra ID tenant (tenant ID XXX ) has been inactive for more than 200 days.
Required action: To continue using your tenant, make a purchase before May 11, 2025. If you don’t make a purchase before this date, your next purchase with Microsoft will require a new Microsoft Entra ID tenant to continue using Microsoft services.
I dont know what an Entra Tenant ID is? What purchase should I make?
My MS 365 licence ends only May 26 2025 and will be renewed of course.
Is that what this email is about?

It's still not clear whether this is an authentic Microsoft email or not - a number of people who know about Microsoft's business services are split on whether it's authentic or some kind of phishing scam. What is really surprising is that Microsoft don't appear to have made any official comment on it.

Thank you for your reply. As I have said, it is my Teams old account that has been targeted. When I open Teams, there is a warning sign about not being able to access it but I can still use Teams as an individual.
Microsoft should reply or send out a warning about a phishing scam, like most of other websites do, so it is all fishy business if you ask me. If they're so thorough with their updates, this is the first thing they should - alert users about the phishing scams. I won't pay a penny or do anything. I'll wait until the 26 June and see what happens.

This is the message I got, I do not understand anything because I have never purchased anythiny from Microsoft. I just purchase my laptop and use the system it comes with. Can anyone tell me if this is a Scam?

Dear Microsoft,
where can I check my Tenant ID to compare it to the one mentioned in the e-mail?
I am from a non-english speaking country which means I use microsoft in a different language.
I don´t even know if it´s about Windows or some microsoft Office stuff.
Help highly appreciated!
