Hi JulianGG,
Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community. I am happy to assist you here.
Since the Microsoft 365 mobile app (and the SharePoint mobile app) doesn't directly support changing granular folder permissions, you'll need to use your mobile device's web browser and switch to "Desktop site" view. This will give you access to the full SharePoint web interface.
Here's how to do it:
- Open a Web browser on your mobile device
- Launch your preferred web browser, such as Chrome, Safari, or Microsoft Edge, on your smartphone or tablet.
- Navigate to your SharePoint site
- Switch to "Desktop Site" View
- This is the crucial step. You need to tell your browser to display the full desktop version of the website.
- For Chrome (Android/iOS): Tap the three vertical dots (⋮) in the top-right or bottom-right corner, then select "Desktop site" (or "Request Desktop Site").
- For Safari (iOS): Tap the "aA" icon in the top-left corner of the address bar, then select "Request Desktop Website".
- For Edge (Android/iOS): Tap the three horizontal dots (...) at the bottom or top of the screen, then select "View desktop site".
- (If you're using a different browser, look for a similar option in its settings or menu.)
- Navigate to the Specific Folder
- Once in desktop view, the SharePoint interface will look just like it does on a computer. You may need to pinch-to-zoom to make navigation easier.
- Browse to the library or folder where you want to change permissions.
- Change Folder Permissions
- Hover over or tap the folder name you want to modify.
- Look for the three horizontal or vertical dots (...) that appear when the folder is selected or hovered over.
- Tap this ellipsis icon, then look for options like "Manage access" or "Shared with".
- From here, you'll be able to add or remove users, change their permission levels (e.g., Read, Contribute, Full control), and adjust sharing settings, just as you would on a desktop computer.
Important noted:
- Screen Size: Performing these actions on a small phone screen can be challenging due to the intricate nature of SharePoint permissions.
- Tablets vs. Phones: Using a tablet for this process will offer a significantly better experience than a smartphone because of the larger screen size.
We truly appreciate your patience as we look into this matter. Thank you for choosing Microsoft Teams, and we value your support.
Please let us know if you need further assistance.
All the best,
Best regards.
