Syncing issues with OneDrive shared folders

Also have the same problem. Shared folders worked seamlessly for years, and now disrupted my workflow big time.

2 weeks and still waiting for a solution.

Has anyone received a fix for this problem? We are having the same issue

Not really. I received an email from Microsoft asking for more information about my issues. That was yesterday, and I'm waiting to see what they come up with. I did find a response reading through some reddit threads. I tried the mapping network drive, and it worked once last night, but it stopped working when I restarted this morning. Maybe that's a clue... Here is the response:

"It sounds like you're experiencing an issue where your OneDrive shared files are no longer appearing in your File Manager. This is a known problem that has been affecting some users since mid-2024

Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue:

1. Access OneDrive via Web: You can still access your shared files by logging into OneDrive online. This might not be as convenient, but it ensures you can still reach your files.
2. Add Shortcut to My Files: Go to the shared folder in OneDrive online, and use the "Add shortcut to My files" option. This might help in making the shared files appear in your local OneDrive folder
3. Map Network Drive: You can map your OneDrive as a network drive. Here’s how:
   • Open File Explorer and right-click on "This PC".
   • Select "Map network drive".
   • In the Folder field, enter the path \\d.docs.live.net@SSL\your_CID_code (replace your_CID_code with your actual CID code from the OneDrive URL).
   • Follow the prompts to complete the setup

If these steps don't resolve the issue, it might be best to keep an eye on updates from Microsoft, as they are aware of the problem and working on a fix."

I have the same issue. I have tried syncing on a newly installed Windows to see if it was related to some OneDrive issue on my work computer and the problem appeared in the new Windows as well. I'm not sure how Microsoft can let a bug like this persist for weeks (or months). It just started happening with me two or 3 weeks ago.

• I bought a new surface laptop, updated Windows to the latest, logged in with my MSFT id.
• OneDrive is already installed, I signed in
• It picked up all my personal files and when it finished syncing, the shared folder was there and empty.
• The shared folder name has a computer name appended to it
• The whole folder structure is there, absolutely no files.

The same OneDrive and shared folders work just fine on my iPhone, just like it used to work on Windows for more than 5 years.

This is really ridiculous.

I have four shared folders from four different accounts that used to sync with my main OneDrive.

Two of them still work as expected, but the other two have turned into internet shortcuts. What's strange is that on my Android OneDrive app, one of these two shared folders still appears in my main OneDrive as a normal folder that I can open or make available offline. The other one is in the "Shared with me" section, and I can open it without any issues.

This is an unacceptable error.

The other workaround with the Network drive also doesn't work reliably. Getting constant hiccups, connnection unavailable, enter app passwords multiple times despite checking the remember me box.
