we have fix to onedrive shortcut on file explorer

we found out that when I browse folders in MS Excel or Word, I can see the folder and it is not displayed as a placeholder. Therefore we copied the path of the last opened file from onedrive in MS Excel https://d.docs.live.net/.../foldres... etc. and mapped it as a network folder, then access via the explorer works. What do you think?

    onedrive team is working on since long.!!

    better to switch to other cloud storage website.

    Please let your leadership know that Microsoft will lose customers due to this issue. This same problem manifest itself on my computer today (March 1, 2025) and it's clearly been an issue for a very long time. Since it has not been fixed I'll be migrating my files to a different cloud storage provider, probably Google, and will happily pay more for it. At some point in the near future I'll be canceling my office subscription since I won't need it any more.

    Thanks for posting this - I couldn't get the authentication step to work, though. Could you clarify what you mean by this part "It may ask you to enter the credentials of the OneDrive account the folder was shared with" - do you mean the credentials of the OneDrive account that owns the folder and is sharing it with me, or my credentials as the receiver of the shared folder?

    I tried my own credentials as that seemed natural, but that didn't work, so I wonder if I need to ask the account that owns the shared folder to provide me with theirs to try.
