OneDrive shared folders are now links, not folders! How do I fix this?

I understand that you are having trouble on OneDrive shared folders, and I understand your confusion. 

We were inspired by the persistent issue of OneDrive shared folders rendering URLs in File Explorer (Only for Windows). We've considered insights from JasonChodora and Filipe Costa in the following threads, and here's an additional details of their scenario. 1-> Launch browser to access and sign in to OneDrive for the web: onedrive.live.com In the address bar, find and copy the CID code after cid= in the link. As shown in the image:

2-> Now press Windows+E opens the file explorer, right-click this PC, and select Map Network drive.

3-> Combine the CID code with the following address to form the mount path for the OneDrive network drive: https://d.docs.live.net/code>

4-> This maps the contents of OneDrive directly to the local network drive. In the pop-up window, select or fill in the following information, and then click ok

5-> Select an unused drive letter for easy differentiation and use. The Y-drive letter is used here

6-> Fill in the mount path for the OneDrive network drive, check "Reconnect at sign-in" to automatically mount the OneDrive network disk when you log in to Windows.

7-> Sign in to your OneDrive account in the pop-up window. This is usually the password for your Microsoft account, as shown in the figure:

8-> If Microsoft Account have two-step verification turned on, you'll need to get and use an App Passwords when you sign in**.<How to get and use app passwords - Microsoft Support>**As shown in this screenshot:

9-> Once you've signed in, you'll be able to see your OneDrive's network drive in File Explorer.

10-> For shared folders, they will also be displayed in Explorer as the actual folder instead of the URL

I managed to map my OneDrive, however, the shared folders are not shown at all, neither as folder nor even as the links. There is no sign of them.

No explanation is worth it when a technical glitch affects core functionality for an extended period of time, but we want you to know that the engineering team has been working intensively on this issue for some time and has recently sped up the process of fixing it. As frontline support staff, we are organizing use cases and collecting data, including from you, on a daily basis and will continue to monitor the progress of this issue.

While we can't make a definitive commitment at this time, your vote is always a key driver in resolving this issue. Thank you for your continued willingness to talk to us, which makes us feel a great responsibility.

If the previous methods didn't work, you can also try the following methods, as my testing environment is in English, the content of the photos provided for you is also in English. :

1. First, log in to onedrive.live.com via a web browser. In the root folder of the folder shared with you, select an Office document (docx, xlsx, pptx,....,if there is no Office document, try to create a new document with the blue button in the upper left corner), click on the three dots - Open- Open in app.
   
2. In the Office application that is open, click File - Home. You can view the shared file you just opened under Recents. Right-click on it and choose "Copy path to clipboard."
   
3. Open Windows Explorer, find "This PC" on the left, right-click, and select "Add a network location." In the "Add network location" wizard, click Next, and then click "Choose a custom network location."
   
   
4. Plak het gekopieerde bestandspad in het invoervak en verwijder het bestandsnaamgedeelte (als het gekopieerde pad bijvoorbeeld https://d.docs.live.net/xxx/xxx/ABC.xlsx is, moet u ABC.xlsx en bewaar het vorige deel).

I think that is not a solution nor a workaround...

I have my family account that contains all our shared stuff (about 500gb) and until this change I've for example a photos folder mapped in my OneDrive and synced on-demand or full based on subfolder that I need... that was very useful and allow rapid access and offline support.

Now I've a useless shortcut and all my local files are moved in recycle bin... without any notice from onedrive client!

The worst experience with OneDrive in years IMHO.

I hope that this feature will be re-added soon or I must migrate to other solutions :(

I have followed these instructions and it appeared to work, however, it does not appear to update OneDrive when changes are made. The changes are only seen on the local folder that was just created.
