    Hi Charlss,

Thank you for reaching out. If the OneDrive search bar is not working on both the app and website, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

    1. Refresh OneDrive by signing out and signing back in to your account on both the app and web version.
    2. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies by going to your browser settings, clearing cache, and restarting your browser before trying the search function again.
    3. Use Incognito Mode or a different browser (Chrome, Edge, or Firefox) to check if the issue is browser-related.
    4. Check OneDrive Status by visiting Microsoft Service Status to see if OneDrive is experiencing an outage.
    5. Re-index OneDrive Search by renaming a file in OneDrive, waiting a few minutes, and trying to search again.
    6. Try Searching on Another Device to confirm whether the issue is device-specific or a general OneDrive problem.
    7. Reset OneDrive Sync by opening OneDrive settings, clicking Unlink This PC, and signing in again to resync files.
    8. Update OneDrive App by checking for updates in the Microsoft Store (Windows) or App Store/Google Play (Mobile).

I hope these steps help resolve the issue. Let me know if you need further assistance.

    Best regards,
    Tommy

This is a known issue with OneDrive search. Microsoft has acknowledged it and their engineering team is working on a fix, but there's no ETA yet. Until then, the only workaround is to manually browse your folders. Submitting support tickets won't change much, as they’ll likely be closed with the same response.

I must agree with all the frustrations listed here. The search bar has been non-functional for several months, possibly even longer than six months. This happens even for paid accounts. If one cannot search efficiently on their data, how do you expect the user to get to their information? It seems that this is headed in the same direction as how IE share went to Chrome. You are giving your competitors a vast opening to capitalize on this. Please fix this ASAP.

That’s correct. They did some move of all my data then failed to simply reindex

I guess I should be glad they didn’t lose all my data.

I’ve copied all to Dropbox as I have no faith in OneDrive at this point
