OneDrive shared folders showing up as URL links and not actual folders

Hi,

When will this problem be fixed? It has been unresolved for nearly two months now.

Issue

Some OneDrive shared folders shortcuts located in your My Files folder may show up as .url internet shortcuts instead of actual folders.

If I try to open the folder shortcut, it opens as a webpage instead of a folder.

    probably associated to this issue is the fact that when I try to Add a Shared folder to ´My Files´ it fails to do so.

    You know, the longer this problem goes unresolved, the more people will change to different drives and abandon One Drive because this is causing a major inconvenience! I'm already looking at other options as this has been a problem for nearly a YEAR!

    Hi Mia,

    I got hit by this issue 2 days ago, but now recognize the issue is ongoing since about at least one year. Your last post was two months ago. On the MS Support website the issue is listed as the most current issue, but the last update is from March 5th, i.e. 3 weeks old! Instead of resolving the problem, it seems to continue creeping into more and more user accounts. When will you resolve it?

    The online web access is a none solution for working, If you can't fix it for everyone within a few days, onedrive becomes a non-solution as a shared cloud and may force me to migrate elsewhere ...

    So please escalate this and fix it once and for all ASAP!

    Hi everyone,
    I have shared my findings before. Here is another one. After testing with different users, I noticed a clear pattern that might help others:

    It seems that the way a folder is shared affects the type of link that is generated, and that in turn affects whether it can be synced via the OneDrive desktop client.

    Microsoft doesn’t seem to document the difference between /s! and /c/ links clearly, but from what I’ve seen, /c/ links behave like proper “folder shares” and integrate with File Explorer, while /s! links do not.

    I’m sharing this in case others are facing the same issue—it might help narrow things down or give Microsoft a clearer signal about where things go wrong.
