OneDrive shared folders showing up as URL links and not actual folders

Hi,

When will this problem be fixed? It has been unresolved for nearly two months now.

Issue

Some OneDrive shared folders shortcuts located in your My Files folder may show up as .url internet shortcuts instead of actual folders.

If I try to open the folder shortcut, it opens as a webpage instead of a folder.

Best Regards ,

Blanchi Dabre

    Hello, Blanchi

Thank you for raising your concerns in the Microsoft Community.

We are aware of the problem and are working to solve it. The URL files will automatically be converted back to folders when the issue is resolved. For now, we recommend accessing shared folders that are in this state in OneDrive.com.

    Please see this information here:

Add and sync shared folders to OneDrive for home - Microsoft Support

This seems to be a long ongoing issue that isn't being resolved.

This is absolutely absurd. I have a few shared folders that I did a long time ago that still show up as folders and I access the shared data file with an associate. We both PAY for the expanded Onedrive service and the way this is working right now creates a worthless situation. This appears to go back Years, not weeks, or months. It's hard to believe Microsoft is tossing out word salad that this is being worked on. Get your AI on it to figure out what is wrong with Microsoft's coding. We all need this to Function as Advertised. I don't want to pay for another subscription, unless I just drop Onedrive for another service all together. I do not think I am alone on this. Thank you for letting me vent regarding this ongoing problem.

I'm now also having the same problem. Started randomly today whilst using my M1 Mac (Ventura 13.6.1).

I can see in other threads that this problem goes back to June or July of last year, yet still no progress? This is insane.
