MICROSOFT!
My personal exposure to this issue is now 3 full weeks!
Your website has been updated in the meantime stating:
"This issue is due to some changes we're making to our backend service. The .url internet shortcuts will automatically convert back to a folder when the issue is resolved."
But do you have anybody working on the issue? Are you bringing your backend structure back in order? Do you actually understand the issue? Are we waiting for a new power plant to be raised to power your new data center to be equipped somewhere on the globe?
Obviously this is purely an issue of data logic. However complicated it may be on the inside, it can be resolved within days, given the appropriate priority.
I can reassure you: you cannot overestimate the grief you are causing all around the world!
If indeed this "inconvenience" (as you state) is unavoidable in your backend restructuring, focus your engineers in resolving it within days - not weeks, not months, not years!
And have someone competent join these threads with specific dates of resolution and some personal customer care.
While you are quiet, we continue to pay for a service you have screwed up! And we pay for the extra time required to personally work aroud the effects of your issue.
