OneDrive shared folders showing up as URL links and not actual folders

Hi,

When will this problem be fixed? It has been unresolved for nearly two months now.

Issue

Some OneDrive shared folders shortcuts located in your My Files folder may show up as .url internet shortcuts instead of actual folders.

If I try to open the folder shortcut, it opens as a webpage instead of a folder.

    Thankyou for Chastaylormn for voicing this frustration on behalf of all of us.
    It is simply unbelievable that this issue, and numerous others over the years, continues to go on and is no attempt is made to correct with any urgency at all.
    We are treated as mugs, just utter complete disrespect and in complete absence of consumer law as I know it in at least all English speaking countries.

    At present, Google workspace has a much better value product in terms of data storage and AI tokens (and no I don't work for them). Microsoft relies on the fact consumers who have been loyal subscribers will find it too much trouble to change over. They need to consider that at some point (soon) this will no longer be the case.

    Thankyou again for raising this in the manner which you have.

    There is another forum thread created on June 7, 2024 with close to 3000 entries regarding the same problem. It appears to have been answered by someone named Hans Brender on March 13 2025. He says Microsoft OneDrive Group states it as being fixed, but that we need to wait.

    It is now June 7, 2025. This OneDrive issue still exists at Harco Developments.
