OneDrive shared folders always open in webbrowser instead of windows explorer

Since this morning, folders that are shared with me in OneDrive are always opened in the web browser.

Previously, these same shared folders always opened in Windows Explorer.

The fact that the files are only available in the web browser leads to a strong reduction in functionality and is problematic. I saved diles to the folder and different programs on my local pc call these files.

I followed the steps in the procedure:

Add and sync shared folders to OneDrive for home
I have performed the steps:
Unlink and re-link OneDrive

Reinstalling OneDrive

Reset OneDrive

None of which helped or solved the issue.

This issue appears to have started after installation of the new OneDrive version Build 25.015.0126.0002 (64-bit)
A quick fix for this feature bug is appreciated!

    Thank you for supporting Microsoft products and posting in the community.

    OneDrive shared folders showing up as shortcuts and opening from the browser is a OneDrive hot issue, and users all over the world have reported this exception.

    Scroll to the bottom of this document, which you also read, and you can see the following response posted by the OneDrive team regarding this issue:

    This issue has indeed been going on for several months, since June 2024 as far as I know. I‘m sorry to hear that this issue is now occurring in your OneDrive. We, as support staff, are not involved in the development and fixing of Microsoft products and I'm afraid we can't advise you on the exact timing of the fix.

    The sad news is that only the OneDrive team can fix this issue, which is why you've tried troubleshooting such as resetting as well as relinking but it doesn't work. They are working on a solution and we share your expectation to see it fixed soon.

    Please consider temporarily accessing shared folders fromOneDrive webuntil the issue is resolved.

    Are they ever going to fix the "shared by you" so that it doesn't show folders in
    "Shared by you" that are no longer shared by you and do not even exist anywhere?"

    Good Question. I just noticed this issue today for the first time. I can't believe it's not fixed yet. It used to work fine. All of a sudden the folder opens a browser from Windows Explorer. Previously it was a folder shortcut that would just redirect to the target shared folder.

    Have the same issue since this week. I hope for quick fix. It's veery annoying downloading local password file, open it with a password client, add new login data, save file, close client, upload file in browser.
