Excessive price increase

This email came from you today....."Starting on 14/05/2025, the price for your Microsoft 365 Family subscription will change from AUD 139.00/year to AUD 179.00/year. "
This is totally excessive and wholly unjustified. I am completely uninterested in using your copilot system. All I want is the Word Excel and PowerPoint on my Mac.

I've seen some responses that suggest I can cancel and subscribe to MS 365 classic for cheaper.. But this not available in Australia. Are we Guinea pigs here to see how much you can gouge out of ordinary people. Shame on you and your ethics.

I think this move by you signals my final association with Microsoft and its products after nearly 40 years.

    Yes, I received a reply from Microsoft. The reason for the massive price increase is due to the co-pilot AI features. If you do not need these new features, I have cancelled my subscription and renewed with the Classic subscription at $79 CDN, which includes the same features minus the co-pilot. Go to manage subscription - Cancel auto-renew and choose a new subscription as Classic. Your subscription will only cancel at your renewal date. I hope this helps.

    Has anyone actually had a response from Microsoft? I'm in the UK not received any response. It is a massive increase and I only got the email yesterday, so that's not notice of change, if the change happened last month.

    and I just found this little gem buried in a footnote for those of us with Family Subscription ...

    What?? I pay AU$40/year more for only one person (me) is able to use the wonders of AI. Seriously?

    I switched my plan back to Family Classic by following the "Cancel Subscription" and you get the option to downgrade to Classic. I also had the option to get "two free months to make your decision" which I contemplated, but the risk of me forgetting to then downgrade and MS charging me for AI I don't want I just downgraded.
