You have completely missed the point. People are not so much complaining about the increase in price (although 50% increase is intolerable) as they are complaining about the way Microsoft has gone about it. Microsoft did NOT inform people of the exorbitant increase, Microsoft did NOT inform people they were changing the product to include AI, Microsoft did NOT make it clear that people could retain their previous product at the same price they paid the previous year, Microsoft made it very difficult for people to find out they did not have to agree to the inflated new price, Microsoft only gave people the information if they were going through the cancellation process. All this is why people are so upset and angry with what happened this year. You may be smugly accusing people of saying things that are not true, which is itself un true, BUT Microsoft deliberately set out to con people by hiding information that allows people to make an informed decision thereby 'forcing' people to accept the increased cost and little value or cancel their account.
