This is an unacceptable upgrade in the new suggested pricing - 27.8% increase vs last year's update of 15% !!! I am sure that your 'spin' marketing team, will have a way of justifying ANY increase, but think about the effect that will have on your 'past' loyal global customer base.As a 40 year user of Microsoft when I was working for Apple Computer Inc in the USA (and had met Bill Gates), this is an outrageous upgrade that is driven by greed and a blatant misuser of your power and position.I am sure that you could consider a more manageable increase with a more positive outcome for your team.I will look at alternatives so I have a choice instead of being dictated to accept an uplift of $50 to a $179 charge.Disappointing.

If you look around, you can still buy standalone Office. Not sure which country you're in, but you can often (legitimately!) buy online really cheaply too ;)

    Just google Office 2024

Here's a thought - instead of massively increasing the price and forcing what it turns out is a new product onto existing subscribers, leave us as we are and send us an email advising that the new Microsoft Copilot 365 Family is now an option if we want to spend more money?

Good news is I have 9 months to get off my butt and setup the cloud storage features on my NAS and shift my document editing to my Workspace account.

Update: I have had to do the same . BUT today I received notification that "classic" will be charged at the higher rate on my renewal date in a week's time. Seems like Microsoft are determined to force everyone onto some product they neither want nor need. It remains to be seen exactly how much I get charged. As always it is impossible to talk to a real person to sort the mess out.

Same here - no option to resubscribe without Copilot. I don't need it for what I do with Office and I don't want to contribute to the enormous carbon footprint that AI creates. It stinks, MS.
