I am extremely unhappy with this. They are touting "oh it's because CoPilot AI"...I want nothing to do with CoPilot! I really just need word and excel, powerpoint isn't bad to have either though I haven't used it in years. $100 a year for word and excel is nuts. I don't use Outlook, OneNote, or Access and while I use OneDrive a tiny bit I would cope just fine if it were not part of a plan...Microsoft REALLY needs a 365 plan between Basic and Personal that gives people access to Word and Excel without bundling all this other garbage, and doesn't cost us $100 per year. I was already unhappy with the value at the old price but this is obscene.

As many other people have demonstrated their annoyance at this here, I've just had the same message and had to go through to switch to a "classic" plan which is utter tripe. Microsoft clearly hoping to clean up on a massive monthly price hike from unexpecting people who believe that there's no other option. What a really horrible underhand sales tactic Microsoft. Do better.

It should have been offered as an option to upgrade not given as a price increase message, and you know it. Really poor effort and bad taste left afterwards. If I didn't need it, I would walk away from you given these shady tactics.

Funny 8 people found this reply helpful, but it doesn't show how many of us think this is complete BS. There is NO OPTION for Classic. I can only pay yearly or monthly or upgrade to family at an even higher price. I am retired on a fixed income and have to pay for this nonsense. How about a break for students and retired people??????

I found you do have to go further through the 'cancel subscription' process than is comfortable.
Even if you do cancel entirely, you'll keep your subscription until Sept 25th.
However, yes, I had to basically go through the process of cancelling to get the Switch to a subscription that's better for you option to come up. It's a bit of a last ditch effort to keep you so they put it at the end.

You must be lucky or live in a country where there is still an option to change.

I've cancelled my subscription, but still the only option is that blooming AI version at the rediculouse price hike, or a monthly payment plan.

Dear MS, I've been uninstalling the Copilot after each and every update so far. Why should I be paying for something I don't use?!

As if you don't grab enough money! It's disgusting !!!
