Remove copilot icon that appears when I click in Onenote

also, it seems that i merely uninstalled the "desk top" version of the app or remove one that was optional like a year ago or something. The copilot widget remains stubbornly present in my excel workbooks. All i have been able to do, is turn off the widget temporarily by clicking on it, and selecting "hide until i reopen this file". It's infuriating that i will have to redo this with every time i use an excel file or indeed, create a new one, but for now it will have to do.

Good move. But won't get it back with the next Office update?

I suppose we'll find out. But it's working for me, so I'll take it for now until there's a more permanent way to resolve it.

I've been searching for the same answer and so far, no luck; even when I supposedly remove the program. The worst part is that when you double click on the + symbol in front of a new list to "expand" the list, the copilot icon pops up quickly, and when you double-click in the exact same spot to "minimize" the list, it opens the copilot dialog box INSTEAD of minimizing my list. Which then means that I have to click somewhere else on the page, then go back to minimize my list.

Microsoft, making a perfectly functioning program LESS functional and more difficult to use by adding something YOU think I will like without giving me the option to turn it off is extremely frustrating. At a minimum, please move the pop-up icon far enough away from my cursor so that I can learn to ignore it instead of having it stick its toe into my business every 15 seconds.
