Today, I turned on Onenote, and it notified me that it had Copilot update.

Now, every time I click in Onenote, it shows this annoying Copilot icon next to cursor:

How do I remove it?

Thank you.

I think their PMs and devs have become accustomed to empty threats on message boards over the years, but in this case they might “find out“ as they say.

Another example of a corp AI forced onto clients and meant to scrape data.
If I find that any of my copywrited work is being used, I will be reporting it to the proper authorities as intellectual property theft.
    First Google, now MS.
If this keeps up, I might go analog/paper.

    Immoral, unethical and disgusting.
    MS should be ashamed.

    How does Copilot use data?

    • Copilot uses user prompts and responses to improve Microsoft products and services.
    • Copilot only uses data from the Microsoft 365 tenant that the user is part of.
    • Copilot only uses data that the user has permission to view.
    • Copilot doesn't use data to train AI for other companies.

Removing copilot from the ribbon, disabling optional experiences in account privacy, and then following this worked for me to get rid of the inline Copilot icon. Unfortunately that doesn't return the ability to double-click next to a heading to expand/collapse it like OneNote did last week. So now all of my OneNote pages are extremely long - I use headings/outline structure EXTENSIVELY. Now each page is not much better than a watered down Word document in terms of navigation.

Start > Menu (all) > look for Copilot and hover over it > right mouse click > Uninstall > DONE or Settings > Apps >Installed Aps > Copilot > Uninstall > DONE

I'm so appalled by the intrusion of this unwanted slop machine into an app I've been using since 2012.

Now working out how to completely eliminate Microsoft from my workflow.
