Today, I turned on Onenote, and it notified me that it had Copilot update.

Now, every time I click in Onenote, it shows this annoying Copilot icon next to cursor:

How do I remove it?

Thank you.

How is this acceptable? There is no way for me to disable Copilot even after I've disabled the option in Privacy Settings to "Turn on experiences that analyze your content".

Anyone else teetering on the edge of switching OSes?

I know this is late and you may have already noticed. But it's still analyzing your content because it's included in the ALL section.

This means even if you uncheck the first box, it's STILL active. And when you turn it off, your data stops syncing.

    Dearest Capitalist Micro$oft,

Take Co-pilot and shove it up your... I'm out for Linux. If there is an option to use a microsoft product, count on that I'll find a better non-microsoft alternative. You clearly do not give a s#17 about what your customers want and have decided to force your customers to use what you tell them to. You didn't learn your lessons from Internet Explorer and your greedy hands are showing. I have 60 co-pilot credits... Take your credits and shove them up your... You do not care about the consumer only about the dollar. Anything good you've ever done or made has numerous asterisks. Linux may not be perfect, but the distributor never installs software I didn't ask them to, so it's already miles ahead of your **** business practices. I might run windows as a VM on a as needed basis, but you'll never be my OS or office of choice ever again.

Anyone interested in a note taking app, I'm looking at Joplin, Logseq and Obsidian.

    Peace out.

I'm starting to use Copilot extensively. However, the icon that jumps near wherever I click in OneNote seems unnecessary and distracting.

Worse, I'm using OneNote locally, not in harmony with OneDrive. That means the three options shown when the icon is clicked are useless to me. I'm met with, "Copilot does not support local content." (Those options are: Summarize page, Create a task list, and Rewrite page, with "Take notes with Copilot" grayed out.)

Additionally, the icon might be confusing when screenshots are sent to others.

Finally, the same functionality is available without the icon. Just right-click in OneNote and hover on Copilot in the context menu to see the same three choices. Two clicks either way.

    Please fix!

Copy/paste in a new window. Maybe this is more "help" from copilot? Thanks for pointing that out @Alan Staples

I think their PMs and devs have become accustomed to empty threats on message boards over the years, but in this case they might “find out“ as they say.
