How to disable or remove Copilot in Office 365 Personal

Since the latest Office 365 Personal update Version 2410 (Build 18129.20116) Copilot Draft has been enabled in Word, which I don't want.

I have not checked in other Office 365 programs to see if Copilot is enabled.

How do I disable or better, remove Copilot for Office 365 Personal?

Noting that Office 365 Personal does not have access to the Microsoft Edge admin centre from a personal email address.

Why doesn't Microsoft allow the User to decide whether to opt in to enable Copilot, then automatically enabling Copilot, and making it difficult for the User to disable or remove it!

A short update to include the following from a chat session (after moving through 3 operators) which is interesting to say the least. My question was asking which of the email (with the $159 renewal figure) and the details in my account (with the $109 renewal figure) was correct.

once your subscription is due, you will be charged $159 for the updated subscription with many new features. However, we understand you prefer the classic version, and that is possible. I have spoken to many customers with the same concern. You can contact us before your subscription is due, and we will process the renewal for the classic version at $109. The email you received is correct; it serves as a notification for Microsoft 365 subscribers, but you can remain on the classic version.

    I couldn't find M365 classic option on the MS AU website and a chat agent confirmed that "Microsoft 365 Classic version is not available now on our website".

    He also proceeded to try and tell me "It's a good thing that the Copilot AI features are already included in the subscription". To which I totally disagreed and asked how I could get Classic without copilot at lower subscription cost.

    He asked for details of my subscription; and (because it's in April), he suggested I contact them back before the subscription expires and they would help me to get the classic version of Microsoft 365 Family without AI feature. However, he noted this was as a onetime courtesy only and that "it will not available anymore". He said he would raise my concern/feedback with management.

    So IDK, might be time to look at another non-MS option?

    another example of AI fails: I type someones name. turns it into some absurd word like kamquat or pickle.

    gives me dangerously wrong information

    gives my stupid , irrelevant information, etc etc etc. it goes on and on and on.

    I do not need ai to "be more creative" (makes people LESS creative.

    ai DOES make everything more mediocre and hackneyed.

    The automatic switching of subscriptions applies to Microsoft Auto-Renewal and will not be affected if you purchase a key from a third party and activate it yourself.

    Hi Ian,

    Thanks for the instructions to switch back to classic subscription for both pre and after subscription at higher price.

    I don't renew my subscriptions via Microsoft (auto renewal turned off) as I find the software at a lower price from a retailer and add the new Office Product ID.

    Are those switch instructions for Pre higher price be if subscription is renewed using Microsoft auto renewal or through outside renewal subscription?

    I have already provided Feedback in Office about having the same feature as in Outlook for Office, to allow the user to decide.
