Macros that we wrote in Project Online in the Enterprise Global template are now disabled with the latest office upgrade.

Hi,

We upgraded to the latest office version and now when we open MS Project and try to connect to our online profile, the only option we see is to Disable macros. Earlier we also had Enable Macros as an option. Can you pl let us know what we can do to retrieve that option?
I tried attaching a PNG file and also JPG file of the error message but the upload image function is failing here.

Folks, We found an answer to this by talking to Microsoft. It requires registry update.

Save the below content into a updateMacro.reg file in your desktop. Run this file and it will do the magic of enabling the macros.

Yes, the guy from Microsoft recommended to roll back to Version 2407. Here are the instructions for anyone interested.

  1. Launch Command Prompt as an administrator and run the following command one after the other
  2. cd C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun
  3. OfficeC2RClient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.17830.20166

    Hi Fabrice, After applying the registry fix, I also found that if I tried to execute:

    FileOpenEx name:=serverFileName, ReadOnly:=True

    the code would lose context and stop.

    On another topic, has anyone tried to see if digitally signing code will get around the problem?

    Hello all

    Hey Mark, John, whatever Edmonds you are... Your downdate tip was diamond for me anyway because it finally worked!
    After 2 full days wasted in vain...

    Waiting for the real patch now, dear MS Team. Please, check it before to pull it everywhere.

    No connection (or is there some?), but in my excel macros some were curiously stopping in the middle of the execution for eg. on this :

    Fin_Macro:
    Application.DisplayAlerts = True
    Application.ScreenUpdating = True
    SaveNoCheck = Null

    Like usual error, except I could [Continue] the execution and it would exec until the end...

    Does not stop anymore on those since I downdated on MSO Version 2407 this morning... Who knows...

    I liked the irony: Application.DisplayAlerts = True was displaying an alert...
