Unable to open files from OneDrive personal vault

I'm no longer able to open any Office 365 file (pdf files, for example) on Android, *if they are located in the Personal Vault*. Any such attempt fails with a pop up message stating that "We can't open this file. <fileName> might have been moved or deleted, or you might not have permission to edit it".

Here are some of my observations:

  1. That happens despite being already fully authenticated - otherwise we won't even been able to even make the file selection.
  2. My default app in charge to open that file type is part of Microsoft's own and properly installed Office 365 suite. Therefore, it was *supposed* to have been installed with the right permissions already set up for all use cases, including the OneDrive Personal Vault.
  3. I am the administrator on my Android phone. I can open update, delete or read any of my own 365 office files including any of the ones residing in OneDrive - not just on any of my phone's folders, but none that is part of my Personal Vault. By contrast, I don't have such an issue on any of my Widows systems. On Mac, the Personal Drive is not yet supported at all - fair enough. However, on Android, something has changed and it has changed lately.
  4. Never had any problems before, until about a month ago when I have accepted a new 365 Office official update/release from Microsoft. Ever since, this critical issue remained consistent no mater what I 've tried
  5. I have exactly the same issue on Android when trying to use the web app from any browser. Again, this did not happen before that bogus update.

I suspect a fundamental security/permission handling bug introduced in that bogus update pushed out lately.

As a side note, please stop suggesting us to copy of move the files out of the Personal Vault in order to open them. That is *not* an acceptable work around - it simply defies the entire PV purpose, Honestly admitting that the Personal Vault is "Temporary Out of Order" would be a much more desirable approach. That would buy MS some time to meanwhile find a fix to this critical issue. A lot of people that I know are already so upset, that they threat mass quitting OneDrive *just for this particular reason*. That would be such a shame, and a big loss, considering what an outstanding product OneDrive actually is.

    Also a long time MS User/Partner/Supporter .... since the VERY early days ...

    ... lately I've been finding little bugs that lead me to believe there are inherent issues with the toolset programming teams are using at MS.

    This issue is a bit frustrating as typically I go in there for something important (often an urgent thing)

    Obviously a review of they code differences between the last 2-3 iterations should highlight the issue (??)

    I hope it is resolved too - the other issues (mostly in office) - some around for a a couple of years now - are manageable, but SO frustrating (usually in Excel) like suddenly my mouse coordinates being read incorrectly on the app surface (eg mouse pointing to A1 and triggering B12... focus changes whilst typing (initially blamed my fingers, but....) - or the row numbers appearing and disappearing in blocks (usually reappearing with mouse pointer hover)....

    All on several machines - not just my account - not hardware related (eg video drivers for the row numbers etc.

    Anyway - NOT looking for support on those - just a comment. As I write this on my 6th surface product (after years of Thinpads IBM/Lenovo

    These things - little fixable things - obvious things - I never had experienced until about 3 years ago.

    (I miss ML - in those days we could find mistakes in code because we weren't relying on 50 layers of tools and the cumulative impacts thereof)

    I Have Same issue of being not able to see any files on my personal vault from my Android phone, if I log on to OneDrive from my PC then I can see those files, this problem is still not issued. This is very annoying when I need a document to see on my phone when I am away from my PC.

    Microsoft must resolve this issue asap.

    shocking things happened. I moved 1 folder of 125 Mb which had many types of important documents of my entire family to Personal Vault 3-4 days back. Today I tried opening one of the files but could not see any PDF file in the vault folder. So in disbelief I copied the folder back to outside the vault but those files are still missing.

    WHERE ARE THE FILES GONE. I had scan of Id Proofs, property papers, insurance papers and many such things.

    Someone from MS, please respond urgently.

    EDIT 1: just found that 105 files were moved to recycle bin from the Vault directly. Tried restoring them from both my android phone and browser login but failing as per below screenshot.

    PLEASE URGENTLY HELP ME WITH MY DOCUMENTS.
