Teams Chat - copy/paste

Based on your description, we have received a number of requests on this, and the team is currently looking in the situation. I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. In the meantime, the workaround is selecting the message with Time Stamp and name of the person you want, and while still holding the mouse button down, press CTRL + C and CTRL + V. Therefore, I will update this thread as soon as I get any additional information about the query and the fix timeline.

Also, if you have the organization admin permission, you can also raise a service request to report this symptom to our online channel through the O365 admin center. A support agent can further connect with you remotely, for further troubleshooting and involve the backend team where need be. Get support for Microsoft 365 for business -- Online support. I will also revert back when I get more info on this. Your patience and cooperation are much appreciated.

Actually we are highlighting everything, including name and date before copying. But when we paste into another app (eg: Word/Notepad) the name/date are missing.

Yes, you are absolutely right. Currently, even if you highlight everything before copying and pasting, including the name and date, it will only paste the message into other apps. However, as a work around I sincerely suggest hold mouse for selecting the message with Time Stamp and name of the person you want then use CTRL+C for copy while you are still holding mouse and use CTRL+V for paste into another app.

I have been testing your query from my side and based on my test result the above workaround allows me to copy the message with sender name and the timestamp. you can refer to the screenshot below:

Result: pated into word.

Even this doesn't work that well for me, date / name are pasted but in weird order and some messages end up being (partially) repeated for some reason.

Unfortunately, the above workaround does not work for our users. They are resigned to using screengrabs for now; not ideal.

Hoping for a quick resolution by MS.
