Teams Chat - copy/paste

When in Chats in Teams we used to copy conversations and paste them into other docs. This brought across name/date and chat text.

Now when we do this it only brings across the text; name/date are missing. This causes issues for us as we cannot keep accurate records.

Has this facility been changed/withdrawn in an update? Is there a workaround?

    I understand the reason for the change. Do you think the development team would be able to add a feature where you can forward multiple messages to the other user? This would solve everyone's problem - data integrity plus also the ability to send larger chunks of data with the metadata embedded.

    That is a terrible design choice. Anyone who uses this professionally and wants to use any Teams information outside of teams absolutely needs to know who sent a particular message. A screenshot of conversation is not nearly as useful as actual text. I cannot believe that "most users prefer" not to know who sent them a message.

    Whist these workrounds may be ok for us techies but what about the general users.

    Most of our users are not technically minded and cannot/wont go through these 'tricks' to get the text.

    Nice use of AI capabilities. :-) The disadvantage is obviously extra time spent, even though it's just seconds...

    Looking at the situation from a cynical angle, one could conclude that the feature change was devised to coerce ppl to use Copilot. :-)
