The quick access pane is providing links that I do not have write access to and never save to, and I need the 'Browse' folder option at the bottom, which I now have to use the scroll bar in order to select. This is adding extra steps and reducing efficiency, so I would like to remove the Quick Access pane.

@NateNate140 - this is a good work around by adding the "Save As" icon on the Quick Access Toolbar. When I click icon, then it will open up a new window directly to my "Files" so I can choose which folder I'd like to add it to. Thank you for the valuable information! p.s. I also was trying to add screenshots but could not either.
My dilemma is not how to SAVE AS but rather OPEN an existing Excel / Word document. However, the SAVE AS command also displays the annoying and frustrating QUICK ACCESS Panel. Microsoft should offer a way to turn that off, instead of forcing unwanted changes on users just for the sake of changing something.
The issue is far more nefarious. Microsoft thinks they have to right to change every aspect of their os to suit their internal idea of what should and should not happen. they operate in a vacuum of internal responses, never truly reading and especially not caring one way or the other, what the actual user thinks.
This is why I only use Micorosft products at work, forced by my work.
Linux is truly the only alternative to user control and customization. Like it or not, microsoft will never capitulate.
