In Excel, how do I remove the Quick Access pane in the File Save interface?

The quick access pane is providing links that I do not have write access to and never save to, and I need the 'Browse' folder option at the bottom, which I now have to use the scroll bar in order to select. This is adding extra steps and reducing efficiency, so I would like to remove the Quick Access pane.

    I tried this registry hack on my workstation and laptop at work, and it worked even without admin rights!!

    It's ridiculous that we must hack the registry to undo a Microsoft "improvement". 😡

    This made me laugh, thank you!

    I see everyone's folders also because I am a global administrator on our Sharepoint system. And you are correct, I cannot add my own folders to the "Quick Access" list. Very frustrating.

    Yes this was helpful, I just added the Save As option to my Quick Access toolbar at the top of the Excel Window and it opens to what I need with out all that Quick Access Teams/Office365/Sharepoint junk. THANK YOU!

    It looks like it's new feature, not rolled out to everyone yet. Check this article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/getting-started-with-quick-access-eb533c0a-7ee9-40d4-8d29-0a88cc9e0231

    As I understand it, this is a Quick Access from your OneDrive. I don't have that Excel version yet, so I can't try it, but check if they have added some new checkbox in Options, Save.
