In Excel, how do I remove the Quick Access pane in the File Save interface?

The quick access pane is providing links that I do not have write access to and never save to, and I need the 'Browse' folder option at the bottom, which I now have to use the scroll bar in order to select. This is adding extra steps and reducing efficiency, so I would like to remove the Quick Access pane.

This is the most annoying downgrade by Microsoft. I tried disabling the feature shown above and it does not work! The link Pavle shared does not tell you how to disable it. It only describes what Quick Access is and if it doesn't work then it's because you aren't logged into OneDrive. Well, I can't log off OneDrive just to stop this horrible feature. I need to be logged into it. I hate Microsoft so bad. They roll out this **** with no regard for the users.

I think I found a solution, at least the Teams channels are no longer in my Excel and Word save dialog.

Create the following registry entries (Win-Key + R, "regedit", Enter):

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer]

    ShowCloudFilesInQuickAccess REG_DWORD 0

    ShowFrequent REG_DWORD 0

    ShowRecent REG_DWORD 0

    ShowRecommendations REG_DWORD 0

These are equivalent to the privacy options in "Folder Options->General" in the Windows Explorer.

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\16.0\common\privacy]

    disconnectedstate REG_DWORD 2

Beware, this option disables all Add-Ins in Office applications. This option can also be set in any (recent) Office application under "File->Options->Trust Center->Trust Center Settings…->Privacy Options->Privacy Settings...", see https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365-apps/privacy/manage-privacy-controls.

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\ClientTelemetry]

    DisableTelemetry REG_DWORD 1

Upvote if it works for you. :-)

Microsoft please REMOVE this Quick Access to eg Shared Document that greatly reduces time (hence NOT quick) to be able to save where we really want to save.

If not please REMOVE the word "Quick" as this is no longer helpful.
