Unable to embed video in Sway

Hello, I have been trying to embed a video into a Sway that I have made. I am on an Office 365 Family subscription. I have tried YouTube embed, as this is documented here as supported: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/embed-content-in-your-sway-1e1ab12a-f961-4a26-8afc-77a15f892b1d.  However Sway itself says "Sorry, we do not currently support this site. Please look at the more information link above for a list of supported sites." YouTube is in the supported list, but it does not work.

So next I tried using OneDrive. I uploaded the video to OneDrive and created an embed from it. When viewing the Sway on desktop or mobile, however, it loads the iframe but when you click play it says "This video can't be played in this browser. Try using a different browser or downloading the video and playing it in a video app."

Does anyone have any workable way to embed videos into a Sway in August 2024?

    Dear filmnikon,

Thanks for visiting Microsoft Community.  I am happy to help you.

I understand that you are unable to embed videos in Sway.

In order to better understand and resolve your issue, I need to confirm some information with you:

    1. I did not open the support article you provided. Are you referring to this support article?

Embed content in your Sway - Microsoft Support

Did you add the video as per this method?

    1. You say that when you click "Play" you get the message "This video cannot be played in this browser. Try using another browser or downloading the video and playing it in the video application". May I understand that you have successfully inserted the video in Sway, but you can't play it? Did you try to play the video in another browser or video application?
    2. Can you add your locally saved videos to Sway?

You can add videos to Sway as described in this support article.

    Looking forward to your reply.
