Why is there a price increase in Office 365 annual subscription? Am I getting some new stuff? I'm in Malaysia.

My earlier price was below MYR300, but now it's above. :(

Hi, you can contact Microsoft Support to remain on your "Classic" version if you wish. The advantage I see with the new subscription is that it includes CoPilot, Microsoft Teams (allowing group calls for up to 30 hours with up to 300 people), and more. I’ve decided to give it a try for a year and switch back to the "Classic" version at my next renewal if the additional features are not that useful.

The Australian price increase is 45% (43% above the rate of inflation).

I assume it's to pay for the rubbish CoPilot AI thing that has appeared (AI is merely the automated application of the techniques of bad journalism, at least bad journalism keep a few bad journalists employed).

Why can't we have a non-AI version for the old price?

(Will be moving to Libreoffice at the end of the month if this isn't fixed).

I'm testing Libre Office right now to see how well it meets my needs. My annual renewal isn't until May next year so by then either Microsoft will have offered a more reasonable subscription or I'll jump ship too.

I just signed in to my account this morning and just wanna check when my next bill is due, but I was surprised by the stated price. I normally paid RM269 yearly, but the subscription cost has now doubled. I don't know if the CoPilot feature is helpful to some, but I clearly don't like it at all! While I think the implementation of AI is a great way to improve the product, however, the classic feature is much better to use, especially for someone who enjoys just a standard one. RM269 is still affordable for me, but now with the increase to RM440, I don't think it's worth paying for personal use.

My bill is due by June next year, and if Microsoft is consistent with the current price increment, I believe unsubscribing it and looking for another replacement might be the best option.

Today I noticed that Copilot has been added to Word for Mac (I have a Microsoft 365 Family subscription too) with no notification. In spending a lot of time searching for how to disable or remove it I discovered that the next time I renew my subscription it will cost AU$40 more! I did find out how to disable it via privacy settings but the annoying prompt still appears on the document screen.

It would have been courteous for MS to notify us and actually ask us if we wanted this addition and wanted to pay for it as well. Or at the very least provide an easy way to turn it off.
