Remove Copilot from Word

The latest Microsoft 365 Update has added a Copilot function to Word. Now every time I create a new paragraph, a little copilot symbol appears in the left-hand margin prompting me to use copilot. It is extremely annoying and distracting. How do I stop this symbol appearing, or better, remove copilot from Word?

    I don't work for Microsoft.

I've been using via parts of the Office Suite for many years. I just want to be able to continue using it without a Copilot interfering with what I do.

Does this work with business accounts or only personal accounts? I have a business account as a self-employed person and I'm tired of seeing this "Co-Pilot" plagerism machine garbage as well.

"Manage" will no longer bring up the option to switch to the classic version. You now have to click on "cancel subscription" and you will see the classic option with all the same features at the old price just without copilot.

They have hidden the option. You have to click on "cancel subscription" and then it will show you the "classic" version, which is what you had before, at the old price, with all the same features except no copilot!

Unfortunately you don’t get that option if you are in Australia. The only option you get is to go to monthly billing.

According to the person I spoke to online at Microsoft, I have to ring up Microsoft in Australia and beg for the Classic option.

Microsoft will lose my subscription as I won’t support grubby tactics like this.
