how to fix error 29 in office 365

Cannot reactivate office 365 and get error code 29 when updating license. I've uninstalled and reinstalled all the programs, and followed all the online steps suggested by Microsoft. I've tried the Office 365 self-repair tool, and re-logged into my Microsoft account. Nothing works.

For a simpler fix, you can try these:

Close all Office apps first.

  1. Go to File Explorer > View > Show > Hidden items.
  2. Navigate to C:\Users\*your username*\AppData\Local\Microsoft
  3. Delete IdentityCache folder
  4. On the same page, look for OneAuth folder and open it.
  5. Delete the contents of OneAuth folder such as "accounts" and "blobs"
  6. Launch any Office apps and sign in your account. You might need to relaunch the app multiple times until the error is gone.

    Although everything is black and dark now, i mean the background and interface of all the 365 apps, any solution??

    I'm glad it works for you, and you're welcome.

    Regarding your concern with the dark interface, it might have something to do with the Office themes. You can always change this by opening the Word app, go to Accounts tab on the lower left pane. On the left side, look for Office Theme. Click on the dropdown box and choose Colorful or White (depending on your preference). Once done, the changes should be applied to all Office applications.

    Aloha PeanutKimKim - tried so many fixes to resolve this error 29 issue with office activation but yours was simple to follow as well as very helpful so just wanted to tell you thank you much appreciated and YES it worked to fix the problem!!!!!
