Access denied to Microsoft support

I am using Windows 11 Pro and am a Microsoft 365 subscriber. I am looking to get support on a problem I am having with one of the Office applications. But, when logged into my Microsoft account I click on Microsoft support, I get the following message: "Access Denied You don't have permission to access "http://support.microsoft.com/%7Blang-locale%7D/home/contact" on this server".

Does anybody know how to solve this problem?

Thanks.

    It is 23 August 2024

I can not access Microsoft Support using my Personal Account.

I get "server access denied" messages when I try to open a Support Ticket.

    Yesterday everything was working great.

I have 2 One Drive accounts.

    1. A work account
    2. a Personal account.

    Both were syncing.

Both One Drive accounts appeared on in my Computer Mac Finder.

Both accounts files showed up online in Microsoft Online One Drive.

This morning I started up my computer.

My Personal One Drive has overnight disappeared.

It has gone from the Accounts listed in Preferences section on the One Drive application.

In the Mac Finder window both the the Personal and the Work account show as existing.

On line I can see my files in the Personal One Drive account.

But I can not get support for the Personal One drive account.

Every time I try to access Support either through the app or through the online Microsoft Account space, I am told to fill in login details for a Work account. It isn't a work account. The option to choose Personal account is disabled.

I get error messages and no access to support.

    Please could somebody help me?
I can not even reach out to Microsoft to get help with this issue.

I do not know what to do.

**I turned on VPN and I could access the help page.**

My problem started when I could not activate office 365. For weeks, I got the help page "access denied" message. I finally decided to try turning on my Norton VPN (it had been off because it was interfering with internet access, but apparently that is fixed now). I got to the Microsoft help page, contacted support via phone, and they fixed my problem in about 35 minutes. The link between my Windows user account on my PC and my Microsoft account must have been corrupted. They tried a bunch of things, but ultimately, they took control of my pc remotely and made a new Windows user on my PC (just on my pc, NOT the online microsoft account, so don't make a new microsoft account if you are having this issue).  They then activated Office, and lastly transferred all my data on my pc to the new Windows user accout. I now have two users on my PC, and I can delete the old user whenever I want.  BTW, I would not do this on your own unless you know what you are doing.  Also, you must turn VPN off before giving them remote access, just FYI.

The gentleman at Microsoft that helped me was awesome, and I am very grateful for his help!

Thank you, that's very helpful. It's so depressing to see how big business squeezes us all more and more.

I don’t think so. If you are a personal customer of Microsoft then there is no Technical Support. They just direct to these forums. When the software / cloud service works it’s good but if there is a problem then you are on your own. There’s no point paying for this when there are cheaper alternatives out there. I am currently moving my cloud files to a local hard drive and switching my office application suite. Don’t get locked into a cloud service where you are held hostage to bad technical support or the whims of the software provider. Adobe creative suite customers saw the dangers of this recently when they were faced with the choice of accepting Adobe’s new terms and conditions or lose access to all their work stored on the Adobe cloud.
