Access randomly crashing when I try to filter

Having this issue for the past few days.
Every once in a while, when I try to filter a field, access will crash. It doesn't matter how big the table I'm trying to filter is.

Sometimes it crashes when I'm not even touching it. It's just open in the background when I'm working on something else.
More rare though. So not sure if it's even related.

Any ideas?

Microsoft never "removes" an application while working on a bug fix (that would be disastrous to millions of users), so that's not why you don't see Access as an application on your computer. Whatever caused that is not related to the bug being discussed in this thread. You might get some insight from your own IT support.

Thank you for your response. It's version 2407, which is the update from August 1st. There's a bug in that update. Our desktop computers updated most likely after we left on August 2nd. I have a help desk ticket in with our IT department, which is a huge bureaucracy that will take quite some time to address.

Please verify the version of Access on each of the computers you mention. Compare them. Are they the same?

As Karl pointed out, Microsoft did release a fix for the known bug. Compare the information in the article he mentioned to the versions of Access installed on your laptop and desktop. If you need to involve your IT to resolve the problem, please do so.
