OneDrive: Shared folders are only available via internet shortcut

I am having problems with shared folders in OneDrive. They are showing up as internet shortcuts only, I used to have them in File Explorer as a folder that I would click on to access content of that shared folder. My IT person found a website stating that Microsoft is aware of this issue. When will this be fixed?

Nine months and counting. That's quite good for the most recent incarnation of Microsoft, where I would consider 9 years as a more realistic expectation. I'm of the opinion that the reason it hasn't been resolved is everybody in Microsoft is currently working on how best to screw up their customers in some other imaginative and equally stupid way. As a business strategy it's about the most moronic approach I can imagine.

I've defended Microsoft more times than I care to think, but I'm really at the point of saying that this is yet another example of utter incompetence. You also screwed up OneDrive (different problem) about the same time last year - it took me about 2-3 weeks of effort to work out what was going on and develop a solution to replace it. As far as I'm aware you still haven't resolved that problem either. I honestly can't think of another company who is so successful at being so utterly bad in servicing their paying customers... at least, none that are still in business.

Once again this is going to cause me huge problems, but my expectations of Microsoft are now so low that I'm fairly certain not one person working there is even remotely bothered about any of this stuff. In fact, I'm not even convinced that Microsoft considers this to be a problem, other than in the lip service such as above. I wouldn't be surprised if somebody was now working on explaining why this is a substantial, strategic improvement to OneDrive and not own up to any problem whatsoever. Other than we the victims, the only other people I feel sorry for are those in the front line like Sayantan D who have to keep spewing this BS to their customers to make it look like Microsoft actually gives a f***.

My PC needs to be replaced soon. I never thought I would say this, but looks like it's time to switch to the Apple world and get out of the Microsoft space altogether. We all have a point of no return, this is now quite probably mine.
