OneDrive: Shared folders are only available via internet shortcut

I am having problems with shared folders in OneDrive. They are showing up as internet shortcuts only, I used to have them in File Explorer as a folder that I would click on to access content of that shared folder. My IT person found a website stating that Microsoft is aware of this issue. When will this be fixed?

    Any news?

Problem still exists. I had to reset and uninstall mac OS OneDrive because it stopped sync properly and now after reinstall of OneDrive we have *.url instead of shared folder.

Can you ASK engineers in Microsoft when we could expect the fix, or at least the status of this problem? I mean "we almost find the root cause" or " we fixed it, but we didn't tell you".

Your service as OneDrive is not reliable...how we can trust you?

We have the exact same setup as a family, plus that I use cryptomator to only upload encrypted files to the cloud. So accessing the files via the browser is 100% impossible.

6 months of not responding to this critical issue is truly shameful for Microsoft and smells of monopolist behavior.

It's the same here. Now we've also lost access to our data.

Our family's central data storage is an additional Microsoft account, which we were previously able to access with our laptops via shared folders. That's no longer possible.

It still worked until a few days ago. Then, unexpectedly, the message came that a lot of data had been deleted. I hadn't understood that. I suspect that the local copies on my laptop have been deleted because the shares I use no longer exist as folders.

No, copying files back and forth via the web browser is not an alternative or a workaround for us.

This has started to affect me on my MAC. It is extremely annoying and a challenge because it is a sharing environment from a group I am affiliated with, where the information is often time sensitive. It started one night overnight without any action of my part or the site administrators. Mia (or any Microsoft official), can you give an update, please?

We are looking to migrate to One Drive and just noticed this in our pilot testing.. is there no fix for this? We want our users to use local client, not the web client. What are my options? Avoid One Drive?
