OneDrive: Shared folders are only available via internet shortcut

I am having problems with shared folders in OneDrive. They are showing up as internet shortcuts only, I used to have them in File Explorer as a folder that I would click on to access content of that shared folder. My IT person found a website stating that Microsoft is aware of this issue. When will this be fixed?

    Hello, Reception Skyway Park

Thanks for raising your concerns in Microsoft Community.

We are aware of the issue and are working on resolving it. The url files will automatically convert back to folders when the issue is resolved. For now, we recommend accessing shared folders that are in this state on OneDrive.com.

Please refer to this information here:

Any updates on this? Between this and the other thread there are literally thousands with the same issue, it's been over 8 months since this was first acknowledged with no updates. I'm using this for business and it is enough of an issue where I'm going to have to consider moving my enterprise account over to Google Drive if there isn't at least an ETA.

It's weird that people have this problem since June 2024 and there's no solution.
