OneDrive: Shared folders are only available via internet shortcut

I'm IT consultant, and I know this started happening since last year, because my customer asked me to resolve this issue, but at that time, I just told them this was Microsoft bug and all we could do was just waiting for patch release.

Finally, this issue happened on my computer today for my family's shared folder, and found Microsoft has not solved this yet.

I have to recommend to customers to switch to Google Drive if they want to keep shared drive which can be opened in explorer.

I started to click 'I have the same question' link in every single similar question in Microsoft community, both in English and Japanese, to raise up this issue to Microsoft.

I hope more and more people join.

We are having the same problem, which has caused absolute mayhem - There was no warning of this potential change, and quite frankly, this is very disappointing.

The absence of responses on your own answers page is very telling. It makes me think there is a plan to put the function of creating local copies of shared folders behind a paywall or something. Nonetheless, it has been very problematic for a small business that employs several older adults who are not very tech savvy.

Can you please provide an answer to these hundreds of messages?

so when will it be resolved? its so annoying and I just started using OneDrive. Do I need to work a year with this issue that apparently, is happening to numerous of users since June 2024?????
